Two landscapes, one obsession. Here's how a small studio ended up splitting its time between the desert and the mountains.
RP Photoshoot started in 2016 with a fairly simple problem: we couldn't find backdrops good enough for the stories we wanted to tell. So we went looking for them ourselves, first through Rajasthan's forts and lakes, then up into Himachal for the mountains. Somewhere in that process, we stopped thinking of ourselves as a single studio and started running two. One team lives and breathes Rajasthan - knows which hour the light hits Lake Pichola right, which courtyard in Jaipur photographs best in monsoon. The other is built for Manali and the hills around it, comfortable shooting at altitude in weather that would ruin most gear. We kept both, instead of picking one, because couples kept asking for both. A shoot that opens in golden desert light and closes in snow isn't a gimmick to us. It's just the two halves of India we know best.

Jodhpur in June and Rohtang Pass in January ask completely different things of a camera. We built our kit around surviving both - not around whatever looked good on a spec sheet.
